 The Amenities Committee is responsible for the assets of the village. Halstead Parish Council owns two properties:
- The Parish Room in Church Road and
- The Sport Pavilion on the Recreation Ground in Station Road
 The Recreation Ground and Village Green in Church Road are also owned by the parish. The two bus shelters in Station Road and Old London Road, the Village Millennium Sign and the finger-posts at the crossroads are the responsibility of the Parish Council as is the children's play ground.
Three sports clubs use the Pavilion and the Recreation Ground, Halstead Cricket, Halstead Football Club and Halstead Netball Club and hold licenses for this. All the clubs are very successful.
The Pavilion is available for hire during the day and evenings. The Parish Room is also available for hire.

Hire rates: April 2007-March 2008
£8 per hour for casual hirers,
£6 per hour for regular hirers.
