Horticultural Society

HALSTEAD & DISTRICT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

Halstead & District Horticultural Society Established in 1976, the Halstead & District Horticultural Society is an active village club with around 120 members. It is organised and run by a committee of twelve.

Our Programme of Events for 2019 is as follows:

February 28th 8pm - Talk Bennet Smith 'Unusual Plants for Small Places'

March 28th Staging 7.45 - 8.10pm SPRING SHOW at Halstead Village Hall April 25th 8pm - Talk John Waller 'Willow Weaving and Coppicing'

April 30th (Tuesday) Merriments Gardens and Pashley Manor Outing by coach - departure 9.00am

May 4th (Saturday) 10.00am - 12 noon PLANT SALE at Halstead Village Hall

June 14th (Friday) Savill Gardens - Windsor Great Park Outing by coach - departure 9.00am

June 27th Staging 7.45 - 8.10pm SUMMER SHOW at Halstead Village Hall

August 28th (Wednesday) Biggin Hill Garden Outing by own transport

September 7th (Saturday) Staging 9.30 -11.30am AUTUMN SHOW at Halstead Village Hall at 1.45pm.

September 26th 8pm - Talk Russell Bowes 'Ancient Gardens'

October 10th (Thursday) 7.30pm for 8.00pm QUIZ at Halstead Village Hall

October 24th 8pm - Talk Tony Wiseman, the current Head Gardener at Penshurst. 'Penshurst - past, present and future'

November 28th 8pm ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Wine, Nibbles & Mince Pies

December 7th (Saturday) 2pm CHRISTMAS FAIR at Halstead Village Hall The Committee reserves the right to change the published programme.

 

Evening events are usually held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 8pm at Halstead Village Hall, Knockholt Road, TN14 7EX.

Members free. Visitors welcome - £2.

 

Annual Subscriptions for 2019 are: Adult: £8 Couple: £12 Under 18's: Free

Allotmenteers: £5 plus £20 per annum allotment fee
