a_recycleSevenoaks District Council has been running a recycling service for some time.

This is a reminder of those items which can and those which cannot be recycled.

CANS

  • soft drink and alcoholic beverage cans
  • baked beans and tinned meat cans
  • tinned vegetables & fruit tins
  • tinned fish & pet-food cans
  • empty aerosol cans

clear bags containing general
 rubbish will not be collected

ALUMINIUM FOIL

  • ready meal containers & party platters;
  • clean kitchen foil & pet food containers;
  • take-away & meals-on wheels containers

DRINKS CARTONS

  • e.g., orange juice & Ribena;

PAPER & CARDBOARD

  • newspapers & magazines;
  • all cardboard (packaging boxes, cereal & teabag boxes, soap-powder);
  • junk mail, envelopes & pamphlets;
  • all telephone directories (inc Yellow Pages) & catalogues;

GLASS

  • please remember that glass
     cannot go into the clear sacks. Kindly bring glass bottles to bottle
    -banks located at our recycling
     sites throughout the District.
    Call us if you need to be advised
     of bottle-bank locations.

PLASTIC BOTTLES

  • soft drinks bottles (clear & coloured);
  • alcoholic beverages (clear & coloured);
  • milk, fruit juice & cooking oil bottles;
  • baby care & hair care products;
  • household washing up, laundry & cleaning products bottles.

GARDEN WASTE

  • please continue to use the
     existing Green Garden Waste
     collection scheme
    - call 01959 562936

 

OTHER PLASTICS

  • plastic packaging from food &
     vegetables, containers such as
     yoghurt and ice-cream tubs and
     vitamin and medicine bottles
     cannot be taken by the scheme
     at the moment;
  • thick plastic bags, including those
     with hard handles, cannot be
     taken at the moment

Please remember that thin plastic carrier bags (like the ones provided by supermarkets), plastic envelopes from magazines, and plastic covers from dry cleaning, are no longer accepted in your recycling sack.

Please put them in your black sack.

They do not go into landfill, but are now used to generate electricity.
