There are four Sports Club all holding licenses with the Parish Council. Each club uses the Recreation Ground and the Pavilion which has changing rooms :

 The Halstead Cricket Club season is from 1 May until 30 September.
There are three teams:
Saturday 1st XI and Saturday 2nd XI that both play fixtures in the Kent County Village League
Sunday XI plays friendly fixtures against other local village club sides.
Halstead Cricket Club is recognised for its excellent ground and also its splendid teas. The Club has many social and funding raising events.

- The Halstead Senior Football Club season is from 1 September until 15 May.
Halstead is a very successful league team. They have 1st and 2nd XI’s playing on Saturdays and have training sessions on Wednesday evenings at Biggin Hill.

There is also a Junior Football team which plays in the junior league. The team plays at the ground on Sunday mornings from 18 September until 2 May.

- The Halstead Netball Club play all year round and has excellent senior and junior teams. Training sessions are organised throughout the year for the juniors. Both teams play league matches.
They have many social events and have just raised funds to provide a new equipment storage facility.
